Syllable Division

Radar-Vision teaches a very helpful mnemonic verse to help children divide words in syllables at the same time as suggesting how to make a syllable division exercise into a game. All ages of children can be helped with a little make believe, and here Super Heroes see through “code words” with “Radar Vision.” This is how they out-smart the cruel and the bad in the world, and how
they help us get “home.” Vowels often disguise themselves, but with Radar Vision we can figure them out, and read them right!
Swimmers and Riders make it fun to learn and practice two useful syllable division patterns. Each player collects words that follow one of the syllable division patterns, dividing before a single consonant as in riders or dividing between two consonants as in swimmers.
Dividing words into syllables naturally and quickly is one of the best tools for pain free reading. The rules aren't 100% fool-proof, but they're reliable enough to at least get started. After a few rounds of a syllable division game, students will recognise the patters that usually lead to long vowels one way and short vowels the other way!
